What personal data this website collects, why, and the rights available under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020.
This website does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The WhatsApp and Email links on the Contact page open your own messaging or email application and go directly to Peter or a member of his team; nothing you send through them passes through or is logged by this site.
Peter Andrew Townsend ("we," "us") is the data controller for personal data you choose to share directly with him or his team, by WhatsApp message or email.
We do not use website analytics or tracking cookies on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any such tool goes live.
Any information you send by WhatsApp or email is used only to respond to your enquiry, arrange a consultation, and communicate about the services requested. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you choose to make contact, together with our legitimate interest in running an appointment-based practice.
Where a message touches sensitive personal data, for example detail about a legal or financial matter, that information is treated with the higher standard of care the Data Protection Act requires, and is not used beyond what is needed to respond to you and prepare for a consultation.

Messages and any records arising from them are kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and meet any professional record-keeping obligations. Records tied to a specific engagement follow the retention practice for that engagement rather than this general policy.
Under the Data Protection Act, you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you and provide a copy; correct inaccurate or incomplete information; delete data we no longer have a valid reason to keep; and stop processing your data for a specific purpose, including withdrawing consent at any time. These requests can be made through the Contact page. If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you may also complain to Jamaica's Office of the Information Commissioner.
